Parade off but party goes on

Anthem Party will proceed as one hell of a Pride Party on Saturday 10 April in Wellington following confirmation that this year’s Wellington Pride Parade is cancelled

The cofounder of Anthem Party Josiah Pasikale says the party must go on.

“Tickets to Anthem on April 10 have sold faster than ever and we’re emphatic that not only will the party go on, but we’re making additional plans which we’re announcing in the days to come to ensure a massive pride weekend for Wellington - with or without a parade,” says Josiah.

Anthem’s organisers say they are committed to supporting Pride in Wellington and New Zealand.

“We’re heartbroken that the Parade cannot proceed this year, but we remain committed to Pride in Wellington. And, we are looking forward to announcing more about just how we plan to give more than lip service to this commitment,” says Anthem’s other cofounder Nathan Brown.

Anthem’s Pride Party on 10 April includes two dancefloors across two connected venues - Eva Beva and El Barrio on Dixon Street. A massive line up of familiar and new DJs will support DJ Jordan Eskra from Auckland including Underground Mo, Marcus and introducing to Anthem for the first time, Wellington’s DJ Pleez. The party will feature performances from Marysia Collins and Jaycee plus many more.
